Guitar Scales & Chords Power App Reviews

This is a must have for guitarists at any level. Great for memorizing scale patters, chords and notes on the fretboard. I open it up for five minutes here and there whenever I have downtime and its really helped me memorize and gradually understand how everything fits together.

This is by far the best guitar scale reference for practice and teaching in the App Store. You can view and print scales in any key and in any mode. You can also view and print a number of other scale-like forms (pentatonic, bebop dominate, etc.). The fretboard, in standard tuning, can even be viewed and printed out in CAGED boxes. You can even plug in a chord and see a fretboard of arpeggios which you can print out. Its insanely great! But I still want more: More, or user-created, scales. Arbitrary user-created tunings. Arbitrary number of strings so it can handle mandolin and bass, etc. Still, nothing else out there is even close. Play guitar? You need this.

Would love to have some basic backtracks included to practice but no big deal. Otherwise a great app to learn chord triads, scales over chord triads.

Like this app a lot. A good value. Would be better if playback speed was set with a built-in metronome. Add a built-in tuner and this would be the perfect training app!

This is a great guitar app with fine features. I find that the Guitar Reference app has many additional features not available here but at an added cost. Both give me extended use in my guitar studies.

Cant say enough good things about this app. Its incredibly versatile. The $1.99 upgrade is ridiculously inexpensive. This app completely replaces several books and videos I purchased that were 10x the cost. The ability to have access to this much information on my iPad and phone is really a game changer for me. Its one of the best apps I own and I use it almost daily. I highly recommend this app!

Am I the only one to notice that the developer is not even using guitar sounds? Even when you play the stings on the top right? Three stars for doing it half right.
